He was united in marriage to Mary Ardath Hogard on Dec. 16, 1936 in Piggott. They moved to Detroit, Mich., in 1937 where one son was born, Neil Francis Brady. His career in the defense industry and tool and die field spanned more than forty years. After 30 years of service at Brooks & Perkins, Inc., he retired and returned to Piggott in 1978.
He was committed to active service in God's Church. He served as a deacon and taught for many years at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Piggott and for many years previously at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Ferndale, Mich.
He lived life to the fullest each day. He never met a stranger. He loved gardening, yard work and sports of every kind including golf as a long term member of Sugar Creek Country Club.
He was preceded in death by Mary Ardath Brady his loving wife of 65 years; his brothers William Roy, John Frederick, James Franklin, and Russell Elbert; and a sister Sarah Agnes. He is survived by son Neil Francis and wife Geri Christine of Dallas, Texas; two sisters Bessie Leona Ridgeway of Tampa Fl., and Verna Ottie Smith of Poplar Bluff; and numerous nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends whose lives were touched by his warmth, friendliness, integrity and good character. His passion for life will be missed by all.
Visitation was held Tuesday with funeral Services held Wednesday, May 30, in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with W.K. Roach and Danny Self officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
