Richardson wins award

Thursday, July 5, 2007

The United States Achievement Academy has announced that Enoch Richardson, of Piggott, has been named as U.S. National Award winner for band.

This award is a prestigious honor that recognizes less than ten percent of all American high school students. Enoch, who attends school at Piggott, was nominated by Band Director Jon Fulkerson. As a recipient of the honor his name will appear in the U.S. Achievement Academy's Official Yearbook, which is published nationally.

Winners are selected upon the exclusive recommendation of teachers, coaches, counselors and other qualified sponsors and upon the standards of selection set forth by the Academy. The criteria for selection are a student's academic performance, interest and aptitude, leadership qualities, responsibility, enthusiasm, motivation to learn and improve, citizenship, attitude and cooperative spirit, dependability and recommendation from a qualified sponsor.

Enoch is the son of Charles and Paula Richardson of Piggott. Grandparents are Danny and Dot Richardson of Clarkton, Dale and Peggy Kirkbride of Dexter and the late E.J. Manuel and Carolyn Manuel of Paragould.
