Halcyon Bartleson

Halcyon Bartleson, 96, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Piggott, died Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, 2007, in the Westwood Hills Health Care Center in Poplar Bluff.

She was born April 3, 1911, the daughter of the late James Ralph and Margaret Osmon Myers.

She was united in marriage to H. Blair Bartleson on Aug. 19, 1932. The couple had three sons.

Mrs. Bartleson was a member of the New Covenant Fellowship Church in Poplar Bluff. She loved Jesus, and enjoyed studying the Bible and contributing to Christian charities around the world.

She was preceded in death by her husband Blair in 2001; two sons, Hodson Blair Bartleson and Michael Myers Bartleson; two brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by a son, Steven Shane Bartleson; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Brooke, Michael Tate, Heather, Michelle, William Shane and Virginia Blair; four great-grandchildren, Abigail, Andrew, Reilley, Justin and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 26, in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Jerry Moore officiating. Burial was in the Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ken George, Jason Moore, Jason Rose, Joe Scobey and Jerry Kuykendall.

Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
