Sylvia R. Purdom, 82, died Oct. 29, 2007, in Toledo, Ohio. She was born to Corbett and Della (Rodden) Purdom on Jan. 23, 1925, in Clay County.
She worked in Michigan in the auto parts industry for many years and at Georgia Pacific Plywood in Toledo. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Toledo.
She loved to sing in the church choir, reading and doing cross-word puzzles. She also enjoyed music and dancing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and her brother. She is survived by sisters Elois (Eason) of Oklahoma and Pauline (Sheehy) of Florida, along with Alma (Lovelady) and Golda (Hill) of Toledo; and sisters-in-law Lois (Tabassum) and Judy Purdom of Toledo.
Private memorial services were to be held at a later date, with Bateman Funeral Home of Newport in charge of the arrangements.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Newport Rehabilitation Care Center.
