Delores J. Gossett, daughter of the late Otis Johnson and Clara Kirk Johnson, was born Feb. 20, 1934 in Crow, W. Va., and died at her residence in Dexter, Mo., on Dec. 29, 2007, at the age of 73 years.
Mrs. Gossett was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, Order of the Eastern Star and Missouri Southern Healthcare Auxiliary.
On Jan. 1, 1954 she was united in marriage to Jerry Gossett in Dearborn, Mich. Mr. Gossett survives at the home in Dexter.
Besides her husband, other survivors include four daughters, Judy K. McDonald of Crystal River, Fla., Teresa Larocque of High Ridge, Mo., Diane Mitchell of Summerville, S.C., and Barbara Judge of Dexter; a brother, Dillard Johnson of Crow, W. Va.; three sisters, Dana Richmond of Crow, W. Va., Evelyn Lucas of Beaver, W. Va., and Marlyn Roberts of Hazel Park, Mich.; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Johnson; by two sisters, Freda Hensley and Lorretta Fasemier, and two grandsons.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Jan. 2, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Bro. Kevin Murray officiating. A graveside service was held Thursday, Jan. 3, at the Piggott Cemetery with Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott in charge of those arrangements.
