He was born Feb. 9, 1940, in Milligan Ridge, Ark., the son of the late Druey and Opal Nash Hoggard.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Doffis Jr. Hoggard and Vernon Wayne Hoggard.
He is survived by his wife, Lula of Piggott; six daughters, Margrette Crawford of Piggott, Susie Hoggard, Lynn "Tiny" Hoggard and Dee Dee Cates, all of Tulsa, Ann Pogue of Piggott and Derotha Allen of Columbia, Pa.; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; two brothers, Cornelous "Punk" Hoggard and Jerry Hoggard, both of Piggott; a sister, Peggy Cook of Piggott, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Mike Book and Ronnie Stevens officiating. Burial was in the Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ted Hackworth, Larry Ezell, Stan Cook, Nathan Hoggard, Aaron Sisson and Marvin Kearns. Honorary pallbearers were Clyde Jones, Jerry Williams, Adam Hackworth, Charley Gage and Calab Crawford.
Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
