Wanda Brent

Wanda Brent, 84, of Pollard died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell.

She was born March 30, 1923, in Pollard, and was the daughter of the late Thomas Clay and Nancy Adeline Baker Permenter.

She was united in marriage to Robert Eugene "Bob" Brent on March 9, 1945. The couple had one daughter.

Mrs. Brent was saved at an early age and was a longtime member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Pollard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Brent, and a sister, Alma Gross.

She is survived by her daughter, Joan Gossett and husband Darrell of Piggott; two grandsons, Justin Gossett and wife Regina, and Brock Gossett; two great-grandchildren, Brent and Riley Jo Gossett; a step-granddaughter, Lorre Gookin and husband Gary, three step great-grandchildren, Erica Collins, Emma Gookin and Alex Gookin; a brother-in-law, Fred Gross; nephew and niece, Tom and Betty Gross, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 14, in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Loy Culver officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery at Pollard. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
