Mrs. Ellis was born Dec. 5, 1920, at Bethlehem, Mo., and was the daughter of the late August and Maggie Jaeger.
She was married to Julaish Henry Ellis on March 30, 1947. They celebrated 46 years of marriage before he preceded her in death July 19, 1993.
Mrs. Ellis was a homemaker and a devoted St. Louis Cardinal fan. She was a former member of the Qulin Senior Citizens and Coon Island Church. She moved to Hazelwood in May of 2000 to be near her children.
She was the beloved mother of Albert Ellis of Collinsville, Ill., Julaish Ellis and wife Janet of Ruidoso, N.M., Lois Juanita Robins and husband Mike of Salem, Mo., Ivan Ellis and wife Rhonda of New Baden, Ill., Richard Ellis and wife Miriam of Lafayette, La., Winona Noble and husband Richard of St. Charles, Mo., Sherman Ellis and wife Tina of Florissant, Mo., Margaret Meyer and husband Greg of Bardstown, Ky.
Mrs. Ellis is survived by a brother, Vermont Jaeger of Washington, Mo., and a sister, Wilma Jane Anderson of Warrenton, Mo. She was dearly loved by 29 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends. Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008 with the Rev. Ezra Ellis officiating. Burial was in Gravel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Richard Ellis, Jordan Brown, Greg Meyer, Sherman Ellis, Albert Ellis, Tony Nordmann, Jay Ellis, Ivan Ellis and Richie Noble.
Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
