Senior Cougars honored at Recognition Day

The Rector Cougars ended their regular season on Wednesday afternoon with a 7-0 shutout over Marmaduke at the Jeremy McDaniel Sports Complex in Rector. The day was also Player-Parent Recognition Day. Nine seniors were honored and introduced with their parents.

The seniors have played baseball together since the pee wee league and continued up through the little league and through their high school years.

Fans are urged to come out and support them at the regional tournament in Rector on Saturday.

The Cougars are bidding for a berth in the state baseball tournament which will be held at Augusta next weekend.

The nine seniors and their parents are, Matt Mills, the son of Perry and Deana Mills; Zach Robertson, the son of Terry and Barbara Robertson; Alan Rabjohn the son of Bill and Sharon Rabjohn; Brian Waddell, the son of Jim and Freda Hensley; Alex Wyatt, the son of Terry and Glenda Wyatt; Gavin Dowdy, the son of Mike and Debbie Dowdy; Tony Gunn, the son of Vickie Gunn; Kyle Pruett, the son of Larry and Glenda Pruett and Aaron Vowell, the son of Jerry and Kathy Vowell.
