Hounds ousted by Indians 14-11

The Marmaduke Greyhounds saw their season come to a close Saturday morning at Jeremy McDaniel Field in Rector. The Marmaduke boys fell to the Marked Tree Indians during first round action of the Class AA regional tournament, 14-11. The season-ending loss puts the Greyhounds at 13-11 on the year.

Bo Tuberville suffered the loss for Marmaduke, giving up nine hits and 12 runs. All of the runs were unearned.

Justin Wright and Brandon Boone led Marmaduke with two hits apiece. Boone connected for a two-run homer in the third.

Down by a score of 8-1 in the second inning, the Greyhounds rallied for a seven-run third inning to tie the game, but the Indians took advantage of several Greyhound miscues and held on for the win.
