Freeda Etta Earline Gregory
Freeda Etta Earline Gregory, 82, of Rector died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.
Born Sept. 8, 1919, in Greene County to the late James R. Parish and Hattie (Wofford) Parish, she was a lifelong resident of this area, a homemaker and a member of the White Oak General Baptist Church.
She was married Sept. 16, 1939, to James Maynard Gregory, who preceded her in death April 20, 1980.
She also was preceded in death by one son, Teddy Gaylon Gregory; one daughter, Barbara Jean Midkiff; two brothers, LeVerl Parish and Byron Parish, and two sisters, Pauline Dowdy and Gladys Miller.
Survivors include one son, Dennis Dale Gregory of Paragould; one daughter, Shirley Dooley of Rector; one daughter-in-law and her husband, Margaret and Verlin Covert; one son-in-law and his wife, Odean and Janet Midkiff; one sister, Christine Shelton of Rector, and two sisters-in-law, Billie Parish and Neva Stanfill.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 28, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Bro. Ardell Foster and Bro. Sam Book officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery with Irby Funeral Home of Rector in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers were Mike Miller, Randal Miller, Keith Dowdy, Mike Dowdy, Anthony Dowdy, Tony Parish, James Huckabay and Rudy Randleman. Honorary pallbearer was Ralph Crain.
