She was born Sept. 1, 1918 in Shelby County, Ky. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Bill Irwin; and her husband, Walter.
She was a former resident of Rector and was a graduate of the Rector High School Class of 1938. She was elected football homecoming queen her senior year.
She worked for a number of years for Drs. Bucy and Futrell.
She married Shelbyville, Ky. native, Walter Adams, and lived there until her death. She was a nurse at Kings Daughter's Hospital for over 40 years and was a member of Shelbyville First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her son, Walter Adams, Jr, a recently retired employee of Louisville's General Electric; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service was held Feb. 22 at Shannon Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Dr. Lowell Ogden officiating. Burial was in Gravel Hill Cemetery.
