Edith Pauline Evans, 88, of Rector died Monday, March 17, 2003, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

She was born Oct. 25, 1914, in Greene County, the daughter of the late Charlie and Emma Beaton Williams.

She was married to Leonard "Boots" Evans, who preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1981.

She was a member of the Alexander Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by eight brothers, Clois Williams, Earl Williams, Ewell Williams, Hoyt Williams, Othelos Williams, Hulen Williams, Carl Williams and Raymond Williams, and one sister, Opal Reynolds.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Loutrichia Evans of Paragould and Arnold and Alma Evans of Attica, Mich.; five grandchildren, Patricia Newman of Dyersburg, Tenn., Keith Evans of Paragould, Melanie Evans of Memphis, Terry Evans of Oswego, N.Y., and Sherry Bernor of Colubiaville, Mich.; and seven great-grandchildren, Bradley Newman, Lindsey Newman, Lankster Evans, Kyle Evans, Kaysi Evans, Sean Evans and Shane Evans.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday (today) at Irby Funeral Home in Marmaduke.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Marmaduke with Conley Williams officiating.

Burial will be in New Liberty Cemetery near Marmaduke with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Cary Williams, Pete Williams, Gary Williams, Randal Williams, Phillip Williams, Earl Wayne Williams, D.C. Ogden, Rex Thomas and Bill Beagle.
