Billy Wayne West, 71, of Kennett died Friday, March 14, 2003, at his home.

He was born Nov. 16, 1931, in Osceola, Ark., the son of the late James G. and Pearl Spawrr West.

He married Ruth Gibbs on Aug. 23, 1968, in Boydsville. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Kennett and was a salesman for Striegel.

He was preceded in death by one son, Rex Loggins.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; his children, Herman and Sharon Morse of Dexter, Mo., Ras and Carol Copeland, Robert and Tina Looney and Keith and Jane Liddell, all of Paragould, Rodney and Debbie West of Kilgore, Texas, Joe and Phyllis Bailey of Montana, Danny and Teresa West of Hayti, Mo., David and Roxanna Loggins of Jonesboro and Johnny and Brenda Chapin and Thad and Sonya Loggins, all of Kennett; 25 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 17, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett with Herman Morse officiating.

Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Bradshaw Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
