Laurel Michelle McBride

Laurel Michelle McBride, 23, of Rector, formerly of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Monday, May 12, 2003, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Her death was sudden and unexpected.

She was born Aug. 21, 1979, in Poplar Bluff and was of the Catholic faith. She graduated from Marmaduke High School, where she excelled in softball and basketball.

She had been employed with Walsh Heartland Pharmaceuticals in Paragould.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Grady McBride.

She is survived by her mother and step-father, Paula (Drury) and Steve Rhodes of Poplar Bluff; her fiancee, Kevin French of Rector; one brother, Paul McBride of Poplar Bluff; one step-brother, Phillip Rhodes of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Mary Beasley of Paragould; one step-sister, Michelle Bass of Poplar Bluff; and grandparents, Paul and Gwen Drury of Poplar Bluff and Bill and Pat McBride of Lafe.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 19, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Poplar Bluff with Father Michael McDevitt officiating and Rev. Kim Bridges assisting.

Burial was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff with Cotrell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
