She was born in Rector, the daughter of the late Mose and Ora Catherine Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Mitchell and two sons, Bobby and Otho Mitchell.

She is survived by one son, George Mitchell, Jr. of Boyce, La.; five daughters, Frances Wilcoxson of Rector, Annette Huckabay of Lafe, Alberta Deshotel of Wewahitchka, Fla., and Alice Blocker and Mary Wells of Kennett; 20 grandchildren; 26 great- grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Bro. Futrell Butler officiating.

Burial was in Purcell Cemetery near Rector with Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Larry Huckabay, Gary Huckabay, Perry Deshotel, Kenneth McNabb, Darrin Mitchell and Damon Mitchell.
