She was born March 1, 1914, in Marmaduke to John Pointer and Nora Alice (Walters) Jackson.
She married Merval Edward Claxton on May 29, 2000.
Mrs. Claxton was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Pointer and Nora Alice Jackson; her husband, Merval Edward Claxton; five brothers; and five sisters.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth Ray Claxton of Cherokee Village, Ark.; five daughters, Martha Dean Robertson of Gladewater, Tx., Deloris McElroy of Sherwood, Ark., Vernedra Claxton of Paragould, Barbara Gross of Wesley, Fla., and Merlene Mullins of Paragould; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2003, in the Irby Funeral Home Chapel of Marmaduke with Don Friend officiating. Burial will follow in Harvey's Chapel Cemetery near Marmaduke.
