Carrie D. Damron, 65, of Lafe died Sunday, June 8, 2003, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

He was born Jan. 1, 1938, in Rector, the son of Frank Damron and Eloise McClure Damron.

In February 1999 he was united in marriage to Josephine Suga Damron.

Mr. Damron worked in civil service and as a hotel manager. He was a 40-year Army veteran and served two tours in Vietnam. He worshipped in the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Damron, and one brother, Tommy Lee Damron.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine of the home; one son, Thomas Damron of Schweinfurt, Germany; two daughters, Carolyn Damron of Schweinfurt, Germany, and Jalisa Damron of the home; his mother, Eloise McClure Damron of Flint, Mich.; two brothers, Jimmy D. Damron of Rector and Terry Lee Damron of Dallas; six sisters, Peggy Langston, Marilyn Smith, Carolyn Florida, Joyce Coon and Debbie Arnd, all of Flint, Mich., and Betty Hill of Chicago.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, west of Rector, with Truman Wycoff officiating.

Irby Funeral Service of Rector is in charge of the arrangements.
