She was born April 16, 1922, in Marmaduke, the daughter of the late Tom and Sylvia Vestal.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marmaduke.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arvie E. "Joe" Johnson; one brother, Tommy Lee Vestal; and seven sisters, Imogene Vestal, Emmajean Vestal, Mary Sheridan, Ethel Saylor, Eunice Reynolds, Esther Campbell and Neola Hatcher.
Survivors include, two daughters and sons-in-law: Betty Lou and Earl McHugh of Metairie, La., Deloris and Morris Smith of Shreveport; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Elsie and Wayne Brightwell of Paragould, and Verna and Otis Williams of Marmaduke; one granddaughter, Deaunna Fleming of Shreveport; three great-granddaughters, Rachel, Michelle and Alicia Fleming of Shreveport and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at the First Baptist Church in Marmaduke with Kim Bridges and Wayne Brightwell officiating.
Burial was in Harvey's Chapel Cemetery with Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Don Echols, Rickie Roberts, Bobby Farmer, Ben Whitaker, Jack Lee, Chuck White and Gene Bennett.
