Violet Higgins

Violet Higgins, 81, of Paragould, formerly of Rector, died Monday Aug. 4, 2003, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

She was born Aug. 12, 1912, in Paragould, the daughter of the late Hill and Della (Taylor) Smith.

She was a homemaker and was of Methodist belief.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Frankie Greenway, Albertine Gunn, Tomazine Wince, and Alberta Davis; two brothers, Willard and Joe Smith; and one grandson, Dennis Lawrence.

She is survived by her husband, Loy Higgins of Paragould; one daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Donald Lawrence of Wynne; three brothers, Doris Mack Smith of Jonesboro and George Smith and Herbert Smith of Paragould; five sisters, Earline Boling, Anna May Boozer, Shirley Crabtree, and Rene Levins all of Paragould, and Sue Romine of Rector.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday (today) at Finch Cemetery with Rev. J.B. Harris officiating. Heath Funeral Home of Paragould is in charge of arrangements.
