Murley Burke Price

Murley Burke Price, 69, of Doniphan, Mo., died Monday, July 28, 2003, at Ripley County Memorial Hospital.

She was born Feb. 4, 1934, in Rector, the daughter of the late Abner and Evaline (Utley) Vowell. She was a member of the Doniphan Lionesses and a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Doniphan United Methodist Church and was a businesswoman.

On Jan. 12, 1955, she married Gerald Burke. He preceded her in death Oct. 5, 1978. On April 6, 1981, she married Max Price in Doniphan. He survives.

Other survivors include four sons, Steve Burke and Joel Burke of Doniphan, Bruce Burke of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Shaun Burke of Nixa; one sister, Maxine Lovelady of Detroit; three brothers, Billy Jack Vowell and Joe Vowell of Detroit and Ray Vowell of Bowling Green, Ky.; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 31, at Edwards Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Johnson officiating. Burial was in Doniphan Cemetery with Edwards Funeral Home of Doniphan in charge of arrangements.
