He was born June 26, 1912, in Malden, Mo., the son of the late William Arthur and Ida Kreigle Mills.
He was first married to Edith Lovelady, who preceded him in death in 1932. He then married Carlene Moore, who preceded him in death on May 30, 2002.
He was a farmer and had been a cotton ginner for 38 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Davis, on May 19, 1991, and five brothers, Alvin Mills, Roy Mills, Chalmer Mills, Carl Mills and M.E. "Pete" Mills.
He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Garnetta and Bill Thomas and Shirley and Freddie Herren of Rector and Alma White of West Memphis; one sister, Mildred Layer of Rector; eight grandchildren, Terry Simpson, Edie Thomas, Bradley Thomas, Mark Thomas, Doug White, Judy Kellogg, Billy Herren and Audra Rigdon; and 11 great-grandchildren, Bethany Burns, Rachel Thomas, Sarah Simpson, Cole Thomas, Hannah Kellogg, Grace Kellogg, Sarah Kellogg, Josh Herren, Karlie Herren, Courtney Rigdon and J.J. Rigdon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday (today) in Irby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Futrell Butler officiating.
Burial will be in Woodland Heights Cemetery with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Mills, Anthony Rowton, Melvin Mills, Bill Benson, Reuben Seay, and Lavon Milburn.
