He was born Sept. 1, 1927, in Rector, the son of the late Marie and Jewell King.
He was a retired riverboat worker and was retired from the railroad. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie Duffel Blan and Jewel King and by his stepfather, Fred Blan.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Mary King, two nephews, Kevin King and Joel King, and one niece Deanna Strobbe, all of Hardy.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday Aug. 19, at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Rev. James Henry Dortch officiating.
Irby Funeral Home of Rector was in charge of arrangements.
