He was born Apr. 16, 1934, in Rector, the son of the late Ezra "Doc" and Nettie Elizabeth Clark Harmon.
He was united in marriage to Louise Book on May 5, 1955. To this union five children were born.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Geneva Ward.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Harmon of Kennett; five children, Lynette Simpson and husband, Jim, of Henderson, Nev., Sheila Sugden and husband, Chris, of Columbia, Tenn., Penny Keating and husband, Steve, of Durrand, Mich., Aldon Owen Harmon, Jr., of Kennett and Hope Harmon and husband, Jake, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Geraldine Mulherin and husband, Bill, of Flint, Mich., and Wilma Read of Mt. Morris, Mich.; two brothers, Raymond Harmon and wife, Ann, of Memphis and Danny Harmon and wife, Shirley, of Knob; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Ray Book officiating.
Burial followed in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway. Pallbearers were Lee Pruitt, Brooke Pruitt, E.J. Harmon, Brad Keating, Stephanie Keating, Cathy Read, Judy Templeton, Dennis Templeton and Reginia Sawyer.
Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
