He was born Aug. 27, 1911, in Fayette Co, Ala., the son of the late Columbus Lee Holcomb and Janie Townsend Cantrell Holcomb.
He was a farmer, a World War II Army veteran and was of the General Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Revis Holcomb and Henry M. Holcomb, and two sisters, Ophelia Cantrell and Adelle Dorris.
He is survived by several nephews and nieces.
Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at Purcell Cemetery with Bro. Don Slatton officiating.
Irby Funeral Home of Rector was in charge of arrangements.
