George Leslie Niederkorn

A funeral mass for George Leslie Niederkorn, 51, was held at 10 a.m. TUesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at Prince of Peace Church, with Father Michael J. Larkin officiating in Jacksonville, Fla.

Interment was in Riverside Memorial Park in Jacksonville. A native of Rector and a 1973 graduate of Greenway High School, Mr. Niederkorn died Saturday, Jan. 24, in a local care facility.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Niederkorn; one daughter, Doris A. Sculley; two sons, Jerry T. Sculley Jr. and William H. Sculley, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters, Carol Rodriguez of St. Augustine, Fla., Faye Harrison of Bayonne, N.J., and Dorothy Maduzia of Urbana, Ill.; four brothers, Ronald Niederkorn of Dover Plains, N.Y., Frank Niederkorn of Rector, Patrick Niederkorn of Beebe and Andrew Niederkorn of Jacksonville, Fla., and his grandchildren, Billy, Michael, Katie, Joey, Jonathon, Leslie, Justin and Tadpole.

Mr. Niederkorn was preceded in death by his parents, Robert (Bob) and Tulita Niederkorn, also of Rector.

A vigil was held at 6 p.m. Jan. 26 at George H. Howell and Son Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
