Stanley Carey, 60, of Corning died Feb. 20, 2004, at his home.
He was born Oct. 5, 1943, in Arkansas to Mary Pauline (Warren) Carey and the late Thomas Carey and was married Oct. 27, 1984, to Catherine Faye (Diggs) Carey, who survives.
He was a factory worker and welder and was employed at Darling Store Fixtures. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and family barbecues. He was of the Baptist faith.
Other survivors include his mother, Mary Carey; one son, Allen Carey and wife, Lou, of Marmaduke; one daughter, Melody Yarbrough and husband, Mark, of Marmaduke; four step-children, Peggy Irlas, Cathy Powell and husband, Dusty, Eddie Seals and Rhonda Burdin and husband, Stacey, all of Poplar Bluff; 16 grandchildren, Hannah Huffines, Heather Huffines, Thomas Carey, Joshua Carey, Tasha Cook, Amy Howe, Shawna Howe, Casey Schmidt, Amy Irlas, Joe Irlas, Dusty Powell Jr., Cindy Powell, Jessica Powell, Amy Seals, Bradley Burdin and Hailey Burdin, and five great-grandchildren, Tyson, Jade, Alexis, Gracie and Colton.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at Ermert Funeral Home Chapel in Corning with Rev. Kent Miller officiating. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery with Ermert Funeral Home of Corning in charge of arrangements.
