Ara Sara Sparks

Ara Sara Sparks, 92, of Rector died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

She was born Feb. 15, 1912, in Hugo, Okla., to the late John and Willie Ann Robinson.

She was a housewife, mother and a member of the First General Baptist Church of Rector.

She also was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Elmer Sparks; two brothers, Elmer and Esker Robinson, and one sister, Bessie Butler.

She is survived by two sons, William "Al" Sparks of Rector and Raymond Eugene Sparks of Riverbank, Calif.; one daughter, Leveta Jewell Wells of Huntington, W.Va., 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 29, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Kenny Burns officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery in Bakersfield, Calif.
