Billie (Bill) E. Shelton Sr., 60, of Cherokee Village, a native of Rector, died Friday, April 16, 2004, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

He was born May 17, 1943, in Rector to Burl and Erma (Guthrie) Shelton of Paragould and was married July 6, 1963, to Rita (Morris) Shelton.

He retired as a tool maker from Chrysler Corporation after 27 years of service. He and his wife, Rita, then moved to Highland, where they have operated the Timberline Restaurant for the last six years.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Shelton of Cherokee Village; two sons, Billie E. Shelton Jr. of Cherokee Village and Kevin Shelton of Springdale; his parents, Burl and Erma Shelton of Paragould; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Wanda Morris of Cherokee Village; four grandchildren, Heather, Justin, Elizabeth and Kevin Shelton; one brother, Darrell Shelton of Paragould, and one sister, Patricia Graves of Paragould.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, April 19, at the First Baptist Church in Hardy with Dr. Larry Kindrick officiating. Burial was in Bronaugh Cemetery at Hardy with Heath Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
