She was born Oct. 10, 1909, in Clay County to the late William Thomas Beal and Lula Trantham Beal.
She was owner and operator of Eula's Grill and also supervisor of the Rector School lunchroom. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, Carson Bishop Hopper; one son, Bill Hopper; one daughter and son-in-law, Avis and Roy Sonney; two brothers, Claude Beal and Van Beal, and three sisters, Oneeda Pruett, Neva Taylor and Lillie Pruett.
She is survived by one daughter-in-law, Sally Hopper of Rector; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Hopper of Denver, Colo., Linda Sullivan of Warner Robins, Ga., Glenda Knouse of Kennesaw, Ga., Lee Sonney of Warner Robins, Ga., Lins Nash of Lincoln, Calif., and Sandy Kelleher of Gray, Ga., eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 2, at the Rector First United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Martineau officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Jeffrey Hopper, Lee Sonney, Jerry Beal and Melvin Sonney.
