Lilly C. Shockley

Lilly C. Shockley, 80, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Rector, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, at Methodist Hospital North in Memphis.

She was born April 11, 1924, in Butler County, Mo., to the late James Thomas Merritt and Margaret Callow Merritt.

She was a homemaker and of the General Baptist faith.

Survivors include one son, Charles Wayne Shockley of Michigan; two daughters, Margaret Smith of Horn Lake, Miss., and Barbara Haynes of Memphis; one brother, James Merritt of Alabama; two sisters, Ethel McMahon of California and Elmarie Barnes of Franklin, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, Aug. 25) at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Rev. Kenny Burns officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Justin Haynes, Eric Shavalia, Jeremy LaMont, T.J. Ingram and Charles Shockley.
