She was born Aug. 29, 1902, in Clay County to the late John Purdom and Georgie (Allen) Purdom.
She had been a waitress, was a lifelong member of the community and was of the Baptist faith.
Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Floyd, Hardy, Clyde and Homer Purdom, and five sisters, Maudie Purdom, Lee (Purdom) Miller, Edna (Purdom) Fite, Emmie (Purdom) Hefner and Ruthie Purdom.
Survivors include a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Futrell Butler officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Gary Shockley, Scott Shockley, Mickey Payne, Ben Whitaker, Donald Thompson and Tony Thompson.
