William Henry "Tom" King, 87, of Rector died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, in Rector.

He was born Feb. 23, 1917, in Corning to the late Thomas Cleveland and Beulah King.

He was a general contractor, a World War II Army veteran and of the Baptist faith.

He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty King and Anna Bowers, and one uncle, Arb Simpson.

Survivors include his wife, Imogene King of Rector; one daughter, Marilyn Louise King Walters of Poplar Bluff; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Louise and Fred Martin of Decatur, Ala., and two grandchildren, Candace Lee Walters and Angela Nicole O'Conner and husband Tim.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Michael Polk officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Joe Morgan, John Estes, Maurice Harps, Tommy Wagster, Ron Benson, Keith Hill and Don Mosley.
