Charlene Kennedy

Charlene Kennedy, 87, of Rector died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at Johnson Regional Medical Center in Clarksville.

She was born Nov. 27, 1917, in Greene County to the late James Christopher and Eva Jane (Meredith) Kennedy and was married March 3, 1943, in Paragould to Henry Ford Kennedy, who survives.

She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Odell, Earl, Horace and Ovid Kennedy, and three sisters, Vinita Kennedy, Freeda Eaton and Opal Kennedy.

She was a homemaker and a member of Tokio Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Ford Kennedy of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Joan Kennedy of Gaithersburg, Md., and Roger and Jennifer Kennedy of Clarksville; one daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Clarence Huffman of Rector; 10 grandchildren, Michael Kennedy, Cobi Hendrix, Heather Huffman, Jon Huffman, Chanda Hendricks, Michele Romito, Casey Kennedy, Amber Kennedy, Rudy Kennedy and Allyson Kennedy, and five great-grandchildren, Sawyer Hendrix, Parker Hendricks, Isabella Romito, John Ford Hendrix and Cameron Kennedy.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight (Wednesday, Jan. 26) at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel with Donnie Morris and Ken Roden officiating. Burial will be in Cudd Cemetery near Marmaduke.

Pallbearers will be J.D. Chadwick, James Lyles, Mike Dowdy, Hoss Phillips, Earl Clayton and Doran Thompson.
