Vesta Lee Parks, 80, of DeSoto, Mo., died Wednesday, July 27, 2005, at The Villas in DeSoto.

She was born July 31, 1924, in Rector, the daughter of the late Albert and Lois (Tidwell) Wilkins.

She was a packer for Bussman Fuse.

She also was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Parks, and a sister, Lucille Vangilder.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Sam) McElya of DeSoto; four grandchildren, Stephen Heskett of Foley, Mo., Russell Heskett of O'Fallon, Mo., Melinda (Ed) Kues of O'Fallon, and Stephanie McElya of St. Peters, Mo., and five great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Piggott Cemetery with Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
