Viva Florence Cox

Viva Florence Cox, 92, of Rector died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

Born July 27, 1913, in Rector to the late John and Janie Tyler, she was a homemaker, former employee of Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector and a member of the Blue Cane General Baptist Church.

Also preceding her in death were her husband, Rummel Cox; two brothers, John and Corbett Tyler, and two sisters, Lou Easton and Thelma McLeoad.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Dorris Cox of Sherwood; one sister, Freida Landrum of Rector; two grandchildren and their spouses, JoAnna and Jim Pope of Tavares, Fla., and Elvis and Suzanna Cox of Jacksonville, and one great-grandchild, Kalynn Gracie Cox of Jacksonville.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Rev. James Henry Dortch officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Bual Cox, Charles Smith, Dewey Shelton, Kenneth Foster, Danny Dortch and Doyle Waugh. Memorials may be made to the Blue Cane General Baptist Church.
