Edith Newsom, 94, of Paragould Nursing Center died Monday, March, 27, 2006, in Paragould.

Born July 24, 1911, in Walker County, Ala., she was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee P. Newsom; one son, David Newsom, and three brothers.

Survivors include one daughter, Beverly Newsom Vlassek of Paragould; three grandchildren, Ruth Norris Baurle of San Diego, Calif., Ray Newsom of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Sue Newsom Caldwell of Gardendale, Ala., and five great-grandchildren.

No funeral services are planned at this time. Irby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
