Mrs. Gordon was born Oct. 16, 1925, in Henderson, Minn., to the late Henry Edward and Minnie Martha Griesbach Rau. She was married in August 1945 in Seattle, Wash., to Richard Jacob Gordon, who died Dec. 2, 1999.
A former Rector city recorder/treasurer, Mrs. Gordon served in the Civilian Conservation Corps during World War II and worked for many years as a church secretary and public accountant.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Champaign, Ill., and Rector. She was an active leader in the Girl Scouts and the Woman's Club of Rector and helped to build the Rector Community Center. She was the Woman's Club's Honored Lady in Rector in 1993.
She was a fanatic of history and genealogy.
Survivors include one daughter, Judith Gordon of Champaign; two sisters, Lois Beseke of Henderson, Minn., and Marvel Senver of Le Sueur, Minn., and one grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 8) at Mitchell Cemetery near Greenway with Morgan Memorial Home of Savoy and Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Rector, to the Rector Public Library and Community Museum, 121 West Fourth Street, or to the Rector Community Center.
