Born April 4, 1917, in Many Islands, Ark., to the late Dora and George England, he was retired from the military, having served during World War II and Korea. He also served as city marshal in Whitehall.
He also was preceded in death by his wife, Vesta England; one daughter, Laurel Susan Hitt, and two sisters, Etta Coffel and Eva Coffel.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda K. George of Desoto, Mo., and Patricia A. Mills of Fayetteville; three brothers, Weldon England of Paragould, Windol England and Fred England both of Indianapolis, Ind.; one sister, Deleta Collins of Highland, eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Adrian Parker officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
