Myrl Wandean Shelton, 89 of Rector died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at his home.

He was born April 1, 1917, in Rector to the late Henry L. and Hannah M. Shelton. He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Dobie, Cecil and Prentiss Shelton; three sisters, Nora and Jack Shelton and Cleo Faith, and a great-grandchild, Zachery Rees.

He was a retired carpenter and farmer and was a member of the Rector First General Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Earlene Shelton of the home; two sons, Timmy Shelton of Rector and Earl Dean Shelton of Hot Springs; one daughter, Patricia Mabrey of Rector; one brother, Doyle Shelton of Fayetteville; six grandchildren, Tallah Shelton, Trevor Shelton, Lisa Rees, Kristen West, Lance Mabrey and Thomas Harris, and two great-grandchildren, Jacob West and Morgan Rees.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 22) at the First General Baptist Church in Rector with Bro. Marston Carpenter Bro. Mark Book officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.

Pallbearers are Jim Mabrey, Todd Rees, Trevor Shelton, Scott West, Lance Mabrey and Aaron Clayton.
