Born Oct. 8, 1942, in Boydsville to the late Cecil Clayton and Lavada (Watson) Clayton, he was a farmer, of the Baptist faith and a lifelong member of the community. He was married to Patricia Banks on June 14, 1970.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia of the home; two sons, Kenneth Clayton of Paragould and Patrick Clayton of Rector; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Jannie Clayton of Pocahontas; one grandson, Eathan Clayton, and one step-grandson, Matthew Hecht of Paragould.
Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel with Donald Clayton officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Donnie Jr. Clayton, Scotty Burdin, Damon Banks, Nick Banks, Freddy Jenkins, Jonathan Banks, David Banks, James Banks and Sam Mangrum. Honorary pallbearers were Marcus Banks and Jeffrey Banks.
