Ruth Evelyn Drake

Ruth Evelyn Drake, 73, of Evergreen Health Center in Rector, formerly of Greenway, died Feb. 7, 2007, at the Piggott Community Hospital.

She was born July 6, 1933, in Arbyrd, Mo., the daughter of the late Jeff and Lillie Mae "Ward" McClure. She was of the Baptist Faith and worked for many years as a nurse's aide. She married Marshall Drake on May 10, 1955.

She is survived by her husband, Marshall, of Greenway; four sisters, Edith Jackson, Marlene Hoggard, Janice Hollis, and Carlass Robertson; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Ball.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, at the Irby Funeral Chapel in Piggott with Bro. David Finley officiating. Pallbearers were Stanley Simpson, Andy Simpson, David Ball, and Carlos Crittenden.

Interment was in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway.

Irby Funeral Home in Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
