Glenn Dewitt Harper, 97, of Sheridan, formerly of Clay County, died Thursday, March 8, 2007, at his home.

Born June 16, 1909, in Peach Orchard to the late Thomas P. Harper and Bessie May Brown Harper, he was a bus driver for public schools and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two step-sons, Roger Vanpool and Larry Vanpool; one daughter, Mika Childers of Sheridan; four step-daughters, Juanita, Dorothy, Vada and Linda; one sister, Othalia McIlvoy; two grandchildren, Michelle Graves and Nicole Childers; three great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jake and Nathan Graves, and numerous other grandchildren and family and friends.

Funeral services were at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with David Floyd officiating. Burial was in Brownie Cemetery in Clay County.
