Maxine Arrant Holifield

Maxine Arrant Holifield, 86, of Rector died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

Born Nov. 1, 1920, in Savannah, Tenn., to the late Harper Cagle and Mary Shelby Cagle, she was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Also preceding her in death were her first husband, G.G. Arrant, and second husband, W.O. Holifield.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Perry and Brenda Arrant of Rector; two daughters, Brenda and Leonard Burkett and Linda Austin, both of Cane Hill, Ark.: one sister, Mary and Donnie Goucher of South Carolina; five grandchildren, Teressa Johnson, Aaron Arrant, Brian Burkett, Charlotte Stephenson and Wesley Arrant; three great-grandchildren, Sarah Hebert, Simon Johnson and Sydney Arrant, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, March 23, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Deaton officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Wesley Arrant, Brian Burkett, Dean Stephenson, Les Johnson, Simon Johnson, Donald Huckabay and Eugene Burkett.
