She was born Sept. 11, 1935, in Clay County to the late John Franklin Johnson and Margie Alice Seegraves Johnson. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Johnson, and a sister, Pauline Wagster.
Mrs. Lucy worked as a nutrition educator with the University of Central Arizona. She worked with the Migrant Opportunities Program in the 1960s.
During the nine years since she returned to this area, she served as president of the Clay County Extension Homemakers Council and the Rector Extension Homemakers Club and volunteered at the Rector Museum. She was a member of the Rector First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her companion, Porfirio "Mr. Pete" T. Prieto; three sons, Michael Lucy of New Castle, Wyo., Randall Lucy of Rector and Bruce Lucy of Stanfield, Ariz.; one daughter, Beverly Rogers of Louisville, Ky.; two brothers, Earl Johnson of Rector and Gerald Johnson of White Hall, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, July 2, at Irby Funeral Home in Rector with Bro. Paul Seegraves and Bro. Ardell Polk officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.
Pallbearers were Johnny Jones, Christopher Jones, Aaron Lucy, Gena Folger, Kenneth Rogers, Martin Johnson, Reuben Seay and Zane Johnson.
