Clayton Huggins

Clayton Huggins, 85, of Rector died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Mr. Huggins was born Sept. 9, 1922, in Clay County and was a lifetime resident. He served over 10 years on the Rector School Board and was a member of the Church of Christ.

He also was a World War II veteran and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Bessie Huggins; one son, Jerry Huggins, and two brothers, William Huggins and A.B. Huggins.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Virgeen Huggins; two sons and their wives, Thomas and Joyce Huggins of Rector and Clayton and Vickie Huggins of White Hall; one daughter and her husband, Janice and Kenneth Eaton of Leachville; three sisters, Vernon Bell of Garner and Virginia Huggins and Vadalia Huggins of Rector; six grandchildren, Jeremy Huggins, Derrick Dawson, Caleb Huggins, Dustin Huggins, Travis Eaton and Jennifer Eaton, and 10 great-grandchildren, Brittni, Hannah, Emily and Kostalynn Huggins, Cody and Heather Dawson,

Caden Huggins, Collin Eaton, Hunter Costner and Jaydan Eaton.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 24) at Irby Funeral Home in Rector with Ken Roden and Marston Carpenter officiating. Interment will be at Woodland

Heights Cemetery in Rector.
