Ivory Owens

Ivory Owens, 92, of Nimmons, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2007, at the Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett, Mo.

She was born March 1, 1915, in Vinemart, Ala., and was the daughter of the late Frank and Effie Gibson Johnson.

She was married May 6, 1935, to Vernie Owens, who preceded her in death.

She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Lester Johnson, Conward Johnson, Nowel Johnson and J.W. Johnson, and one sister, Mildred German.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Beck and husband Carl of Rector and Lula Jarrell of Dexter, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Phyllis Rogers, Mike Harmon, Bryan Beck, Roger Beck, Randy Beck, Carla Calvin, Christy Smith and Tammy Beck; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, James Henry Johnson of Dayton, Ohio, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were today (Wednesday, Dec. 12) at Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott with Don Evans officiating. Burial followed in the Nimmons Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jared Beck, Jonathon Beck, Bryan Beck, Justice Beck, Eric Rogers and Joel Boyd. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
