Rachel Lee (Hampton) Carroll, 91, of Marmaduke died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

Mrs. Carroll was born Jan. 13, 1916, to the late William Hall and Flossie Pearl (Starnes) Hampton. She was orphaned at age two and was raised by her maternal grandparents, Moses and Belle Starnes.

She was preceded in death by three husbands, Macon Huckabay, Sherrill Graves and Cletus Carroll; her parents, William and Flossie Hampton; one son, Macon (AP) Huckabay, and one grandson, Glenn Alan Gibson.

She is survived by one son, Charles Huckabay of Paragould; three stepsons, Tommy, Nelson and Malcolm Carroll from Marmaduke; three step-daughters, Vanatta Bowery of Shadyside, Ohio, Carolyn Gibson and Marilyn Price of Marmaduke; five grandchildren, Lisa Easley, Terry Huckabay and Kathy Huckabay of Marmaduke, Kelli Wilbanks of Harrisburg and Tracey Huckabay of Paragould; five great-grandchildren, Briar and Lance Easley, Whitney and Kyle Huckabay and Amber Wilbanks, 12 step-grandchildren, John Bowery, Russell Carroll, Darrell Carroll, Eugene Carroll, Pamelia Synder, Karen Hamilton, Valerie Shelton, Kimberly Taylor, Bradley Carroll, Tim Walker, Ken Walker and Eric Price; 18 step-great-grandchildren, Kyle Honeycutt, Damien and Glenn Carroll, Carson Carroll, Justin, Craig and Shawn Synder, Lauren and Lindsey Walden, Morgan Carroll, Matthew and Haley Shelton, Hannah and Abby Taylor, Ashton and Landon Walker and Katelyn and Kylie Walker.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Marmaduke with Bro. Kim Bridges officiating. Interment was in Hartsoe Cemetery near Marmaduke with Irby Funeral Home of Marmaduke in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Terry Huckabay, Warren Nelson, Kenny Walker, Eric Price, Tim Walker, Russell Carroll and Tracy Huckabay.
