Edith Irene Chapman, 95, of Cordova, Tenn., formerly of Rector, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at the Memphis Jewish Home in Cordova.
Born July 14, 1912, to the late Herbert and Mary Ann French, she was a seamstress by trade, of the Methodist faith and a member of the Central Non-Denominational Church in Collinsville, Tenn.
She was married to Joe Chapman, who preceded her in death in 1977.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joann Chapman Ward, in 1975.
Survivors include a grandson, Mark Ward and his wife Kim; two great-grandchildren, Marissa and Cole Ward, and a special goddaughter, Linda Wells.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Jan. 26, at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Bro. Jerry Morgan officiaiting. Irby Funeral Home of Rector was in charge of arrangements.
