Rena Smith

Rena Smith, 92, of Piggott died Tuesday, April 8, 2008, in the Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett.

She was born Dec. 10, 1915, in Malden, the daughter of the late Jack and Vera Williams Edwards.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Steve Edwards.

She is survived by a son, Lester Edwards, Jr. and wife Louise of Piggott; five step-children; two granddaughters, Denise McCrillis and husband Darrell of St. Francis, and Shelia Mayberry and husband Neal of Piggott; granddaughter-in-law, Melissa Edwards of Piggott; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 10, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Joe Payne officiating. Burial was in Cummins Chapel Cemetery at Pollard. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
